Søndanz FLAC

SØNDANZ FLAC (Film Lab & Art Camp) is a 5 complete days mentorship film laboratory open to artists of dance, visual, writing and sound that are already working on a project or in the process of starting one.

SØNDANZ FLAC is a 5 complete days mentorship film laboratory open to artists of dance, visual, writing and sound that are already working on a project or in the process of starting one.

OBJECTIVE: The aim is to originate a community to produce art, play, experiment, collaborate and celebrate together each other’s works. Germinating and testing ideas through playful collaboration/experimentation, feedback, meeting and conversation.

CULINARY EXPERIENCE AND FILM PROGRAMS: Daily community dinners that the participants will help to prepare and cook (in rotation), therefore generating also a culinary experience, accompanied by watching films programmed under RIFF, the ongoing film festival located at the same venue.

CRITERION ACTIVITIES: Daily meetings will be held to share and show the work in progress and get critique and feedback.
Sessions will also include movement, music, walks, drawings, playing and dining.

REQUIREMENTS: The participants will bring their equipment for their process: camera, editing software, and computer. Every participant is responsible for their own equipment and knowledge of the equipment and software they intend to use, as no video/editing training will be taught.
RIFF will provide projectors and canvas.

LEADER: Francesca Penzani. She's from Italy, but has been based in Los Angeles for the last 20 years where she has been a professor in Dance films at the California Institute of The Arts (CALARTS). She is also a filmmaker, choreographer, dancer, teacher, mentor.

SØNDANZ FLAC is a safe ground for experimentation, development, production and celebration. May be some cool projects will take off or may be this is a place for making mistakes and see where an idea can generate other possibilities.” –Francesca N. Penzani.

FINAL SHOWING: SØNDANZ FLAC will conclude with an open showing on July 12th, followed by a tapas dinner organized by RIFF.

CLOSING CEREMONY: Participants are also welcome to join RIFF closing ceremony, screening a tango documentary followed by a Tango and Salsa concert, and a closing party.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: The call is to select up to 10 participants to be selected by Francesca Penzani.

PRICE: 1000 NOK for the complete SØNDANZ FLAC
BED: 100 NOK per night for earlier registrations
Food*: 250 NOK per day
